Recitals

Part of the joy of making music is sharing it with other people. The Bridgeport Academy of Piano Arts offers a yearly recital in which students are able to perform in public for a group of their peers as well as for family and friends. Months of preparation allow our students to fine-tune their selections, thus maximizing the chances that they will be at their best on recital day. Above all, the satisfaction our students get from working hard to prepare for the recital and then performing well in front of an approving audience inspires them to continue working hard as they enter their next year of piano study.

"Music is the universal language of mankind."

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The respectful audience

We feel that the ambience of a recital should reflect the importance—and the joy—of the occasion. Our recitals are traditionally held on a Sunday afternoon in April at an appropriately elegant venue such as Cheyney Mansion in Oak Park.

A festive table

Each student in the program is given a token gift of appreciation after their performance, and immediately after the recital everyone is invited to enjoy a catered spread of cheese, fruit, sweets, and other treats in an adjoining room.
